Mike 10 years ago i was so confused about my double super katana cause last 13 competition lifts i just was a bit from touching w 700.. my raw bench competition was 465..i wanna do this again.. Should i have added more weight cause i know i could have handled more as everyine in Gatlinburg told me no..I loved the shirt but should i have just tried SDP shirt ?? I really hope someone who knows would help me..I would open raw then last 2 tries was with shirt..

So in summary hold the bar at diagonally in your hand & not straight across.
Humans are weird. Next step, add steel bars and coiled springs to your chest to increase your bench.
The difference is that those decrease the actual felt load, equipped benching just let's you move more weight upwards, the increased weight is still felt by the cns, and is harder to stabilise

Brace your core for the bench press? Ok, seems as if I was doing it wrong then. I wasn’t overtly focused on that one. Should I wear my weightlifting belt when I’m benching then?

Just wondering, insane lift, But I noticed your butt was off the bench. When I lift at the gym, people will annoy me and say the max bench does not count because my butt is off the bench. Should I just ignore them? Insane benching
But if you wear a belt for squat and deadlift, how much more pound does it gain at most?

this actually made a huge difference for me because I used to be told to keep my eyes under the bar but I had the exact problem you described. I had to take my bar along a huge distance before getting to my actual bench
I have to go wider with my feet and keep my heels on the ground. I feel like I lose tightness on the decent and when I try to ascend I get stuck at in the middle. How can I fix this?
Try keeping your shoulders on the bench at the top of the lift

My favorite grip is knurl@smooth grip on inclined-bench press. Thumbs-length on all other pushing exercises. My feet up on flat bench always. I am 5ft7", 175lbs, and 64 yrs old. My flat bench max is 225lbs.

I'm used suicide grip ever since I started because I saw Arnold benching like that when I was 17 years old and I'm 50 years old now and I tried to switch over it always felt like I was going to dump the weight when I wrap my thumbs it's like a foreign concept of me to wrap my thumbs I just can't do it every time feels like I want to dump it
